NURTURED FOR THE FUTURE

In close collaboration with the authorities, the Danish Society for Nature Conservation and leading experts, a plan has been prepared detailing how the landscape should best be cared for in future throughout the entire resort area.

FINDS OF RARE ORCHIDS

As an added bonus, during the fieldwork involved in preparing the preservation plan, botanists have found no fewer than five rare species of orchids in very large numbers in the river valley that runs through Lübker Golf Resort®. The orchids reflect the uniqueness of the natural environment that provides the backdrop for Lübker Golf Resort®. The orchids are protected, so they can be enjoyed in future by all guests.

1ST CLASS LIFESTYLE FOR AMPHIBIANS Lübker Golf Resort® covers 200 hectares of Djursland’s most beautiful countryside. In recent years a programme of careful nature preservation has been implemented, creating a wildlife habitat offering perfect conditions for both plants and animals. Major efforts to clean and excavate ponds have resulted in considerably improved living conditions for three endangered amphibian species: the common spade foot toad, the crested newt and the sharp-nosed frog. Similarly, deer and many other species of game thrive in the area, in which clearings are interspersed with dense woodland.

A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME

The passage grave and adjoining long barrow are the best preserved relics at Lübker Golf Resort®. The passage grave was originally enclosed in a mound with a diameter of around 20 metres and a height of three metres. During the archaeological excavations it was revealed that, unsurprisingly, time had taken its toll on the stone construction. Nevertheless, the Danish National Museum has managed to rebuild the passage grave using a few new parts and covered it with a new mound of earth to protect it from the elements. Today the passage grave appears in its original condition and gives visitors a rare chance to glimpse 5,200 years back in time.
