All marker posts and panels, roads and paths, and distance markers are ‘non-removable obstacles’. Rule 16.1.
Drop Zone and Access Prohibited: Sky Course Hole 1:
If it is a proven fact or virtually certain that a ball is in the penalty area of Sky 1, after crossing the boundary between the 2 black and white posts, the player must take relief with a single penalty stroke either in accordance with Rule 17.1 (d) or by placing a ball in the drop zone on the DZ-marked mat.
Drop Zone and Access Prohibited: Sky Course Hole 9:
If it is a proven fact or virtually certain that a ball is in the penalty area of Sky 9, the player must take relief with a single penalty stroke either in accordance with Rule 17.1 (d) or by placing a ball in the drop zone on the DZ-marked mat.
Drop Zone and Access Prohibited: Forest Course Hole 1:
If it is a proven fact or virtually certain that a ball is in the penalty area of Forest 1, the player must take relief with a single penalty stroke either in accordance with Rule 17.1 (d) or by placing a ball in the drop zone behind the red tee. The drop zone is a relief area in accordance with Rule 14.3.
Drop Zone and Access Prohibited: Forest Course Hole 3:
If it is a proven fact or virtually certain that a ball is in the area under repair at Forest 3, the player must take relief without penalty either in accordance with Rule 16.1 or by dropping a ball in the drop zone. The drop zone is a relief area in accordance with Rule 14.3.
Sand Course Hole 9 and Forest Course Hole 9:
Provisional ball for a ball in the penalty area
If a player does not know if the ball is in the penalty area on Sand 9, and/or in the area around the lake on Forest 9, the player, contrary to Rule 18.3a, must play a provisional ball in accordance with one of the 3 relief options for a penalty area in Rule 17.1d, or by dropping a ball in DZ Sand 9 or DZ at the Forest 9 red tee.
The provisional ball becomes the ball in play as usual in accordance with Rule 18.3, unless the original ball, within 3 minutes of search time:
- Cannot be found or it has become a proven fact or virtually certain that it is in the penalty area - then the provisional ball becomes the player’s ball in play.
- Is found in the penalty area - then the player can choose to continue either with the original ball or with the provisional ball.
Sprinklers:
Relief as a result of sprinkler inconvenience is taken in accordance with Rule 16.1, with an additional option for relief when the sprinkler is close to the green and on the play line. For a ball in the general area, the player must also take relief in accordance with Rule 16.1b if a sprinkler is on a reasonable play line, and within two club lengths from the green and from the ball.
Anthills:
Large or hard anthills (when large, hard or conical in shape) at Sky 2 or 8, which cannot be removed, are regarded as areas under repair. This gives the option of relief without penalty in accordance with Rule 16.1.
Alternative rule in the event of a lost ball:
When a ball is lost or Out of Bounds, the player, with 2 penalty strokes in accordance with Standard Local Rule E-5, may drop a ball up to two club lengths on the hole’s fairway, no closer to the hole than where the ball crossed the Out of Bounds boundary or is estimated to be lost. ‘Fairway’ is grass in the general area, mowed to fairway height or lower, incl. the hole’s tee areas. The local rule does not apply when the ball is in a penalty area, or for the original ball if the player has played a provisional ball from the previous place.
Penalty for violation of the Local Rule:
Hole play: loss of hole
Stroke play: 2 penalty strokes
NOTE: In addition to the playing prohibited at Sky 1 and 9, and Forest 1 and 3, in addition to playing being prohibited, we have introduced an Access prohibited. This means that the area must not be stepped on. Violations are punished according to the club’s rules of procedure.
